Southern Ulster Rotary Club Nurtures Connections with Plattekill's Golden Seniors

On October 19th, the Southern Ulster Rotary Club had the distinct pleasure of hosting a heartwarming luncheon at the Plattekill Library, an event that left an indelible mark on all those who attended. Our guests of honor were the Golden Seniors of Plattekill, and it was a gathering that showcased the power of community and the profound impact we can have on one another's lives.

The seniors in attendance were not only treated to a nutritious meal but also shared stories about the library's rich history. In the process, they formed bonds of camaraderie and leaned on one another for comfort and support. It was a testament to the importance of creating spaces for our community members to come together, connect, and find solace in one another's company.

What made this luncheon even more special was the palpable interest expressed by some of the seniors in the many activities and initiatives undertaken by the Southern Ulster Rotary Club. The Veterans and Children's programs, in particular, garnered heartfelt appreciation and admiration. Our club's commitment to serving our community, especially our veterans and children, resonated deeply with the Golden Seniors, leaving them grateful and impressed.

This event was a shining example of how Rotary's mission extends beyond service projects and fundraisers. It's about building relationships, fostering connections, and creating a sense of belonging within our community. As we look back on this wonderful luncheon, we are inspired to continue our work with even greater dedication, knowing that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. We are deeply thankful to the Golden Seniors of Plattekill for allowing us to share this heartwarming moment, and we eagerly anticipate the future connections and collaborations that will continue to strengthen our community.
